Aahwahan's New Model School in Kolar
Governance & transparency

Every rupee accounted for

Every decision answerable. How Aahwahan Foundation is governed, audited and held to account — by a structure that sits deliberately apart from the people running the programmes.

Level 1

General Body

The Trust's members — its highest authority. They safeguard the mission and elect the board.

Level 2

Governing Board

Trustees who set strategy, approve budgets, oversee compliance and hold management to account.

Level 3

Executive Team

The leadership that runs day-to-day operations — turning strategy into programmes on the ground.

Level 4

Programme Teams

Field coordinators, volunteers and community leaders who deliver the work, community by community.

Four principles we are held to

Not aspirations — each one has a mechanism behind it, and each mechanism is auditable.

Accountability

Every decision, rupee and outcome is answerable — to our board, our donors and the communities we serve.

Transparency

Our records are kept openly, so anyone can see how support becomes work on the ground.

Independent oversight

A governing structure separate from day-to-day management sets the standards and checks them.

Ethical stewardship

Funds are used only for the purposes intended, with strict conflict-of-interest rules.

Registered, compliant and audit-ready

A registered Trust established in 2009 in Bengaluru, holding valid 80G and 12A registrations and a Bronze certification (2023) — so contributions qualify cleanly under Schedule VII of the Companies Act, and every rupee is tracked against the project it funds.
