Ranked #1 in Asia for Beach Cleaning
Bronze certified in 2023 for coastline restoration and marine-life protection carried out with volunteer communities.
Overview
"Ranked #1 in Asia for Beach Cleaning" refers to a Bronze-level certification the Aahwahan Foundation received in 2023, recognising coastline restoration and marine-life protection work carried out along Indian shorelines. The certification placed the foundation's programme at the top among comparable beach-cleaning and coastal conservation initiatives assessed across Asia that year. It reflects sustained, volunteer-driven fieldwork rather than a single event, covering both the physical clean-up of coastlines and efforts to reduce the impact of waste and debris on marine habitats.
