Overview

This programme focuses on the most fragile stage of care: pregnancy, birth and the first critical days of a newborn's life. Aahwahan has helped establish more than 42 maternity hospitals and set up 62 Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Units, giving expectant mothers and critically ill infants and children access to facilities that can handle complications a basic clinic cannot. It is built for families, especially in underserved areas, who would otherwise face a long and risky journey to reach the nearest equipped hospital.
